  • Ohio Softball Earns 2018 NFCA Division I Mideast Regional Coaching Staff Of The Year Recognition

    The Ohio softball coaching staff has been recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) as the 2018 Division I East Regional Coaching Staff of the Year, the organization announced on Tuesday (June 12).
  • Seven Ohio Softball Members Named Academic All-MAC

    Seven members of the 2018 Mid-American Conference Champion Ohio Softball team were named Academic All-MAC, the league announced today. Redshirt senior Taylor Saxton, senior Danielle Stiene, redshirt junior Michaela Dorsey, juniors Deanna Cole, Alex Day and Morgan Geno and sophomore Alexa Holland all earned the honor.
  • Ohio Softball Announces Elite Skills Camp

    The 2018 Mid-American Conference Regular Season and Tournament Champion Ohio Softball team has released dates for their 2018 Elite Skills Camp, the team announced today. This year’s Skills Camp will take place Aug. 17-19 for softball players in 7th-12thgrade. Cost is $325 per camper and will take place at the Ohio Softball Field.   • Ohio Softball’s Magical Season Comes to an End Against No. 10 Tennessee

    Unable to overcome a three-run inning in the top of the third, the Ohio softball team (40-17) saw their magical run at the 2018 NCAA Knoxville Regional come to an end, falling to No. 10 Tennessee (48-12), 5-1, inside Sherri Parker Lee Stadium. 
  • Freshmen Lead Ohio Softball to First Ever NCAA Regional Victory

    Led by a two-run homerun from freshman Katie Yun, and a dominating performance by freshman Madi McCrady to close out the last two innings of play, the Ohio softball team (39-16) defeated Monmouth (32-16), 4-0, for their first ever NCAA Regional victory, Saturday afternoon inside Sherri Parker Lee Stadium. 
  • Ohio Softball Blasts Their Way to 7-3 Victory over No. 23/25 James Madison to Advance to NCAA Knoxville Regional Championship Series

    Trailing 2-0 going into the bottom of the fifth inning, the Ohio softball team (40-16) would go on to score six runs and hit two homeruns to help propel the Bobcats to a 7-3 victory over James Madison (43-12), in the elimination game of the 2018 NCAA Knoxville Regional, inside Sherri Parker Lee Stadium. The win sends Ohio to the Knoxville Regional Championship series against No. 10 Tennessee tomorrow (May 20) at 1 p.m. 
  • Ohio Softball Drops Rain Delayed Thriller to JMU, 2-1, in NCAA Regional Opener

    In a game that saw two rain delays that combined for over three and a half hours, the Ohio Softball team (38-16) opened play at the 2018 NCAA Knoxville Regional, falling to No. 23/25 James Madison (43-12), 2-1 in the opening round, Friday (May 18) afternoon, inside Sherri Lee Parker Stadium.
  • Ohio Softball Set to Open Knoxville Regional Against James Madison

    The Ohio softball team (38-15) returns to the national postseason stage for the first time since 2014, when the Bobcats head to Knoxville, Tenn. for the Knoxville Regional in the 2018 NCAA Tournament. The Mid-American Conference Tournament Champion Bobcats will battle with No. 23 James Madison (42-12) in the first game of the Knoxville Regional on Friday, May 18 at 3 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN3. 
  • Three Ohio Softball Members Earn NFCA All-Mideast Region

    Three members of the Ohio softball team were named to the 2018 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Mideast Region Teams, the organization announced today. Senior pitcher Danielle Stiene and junior third baseman Alex Day were named to the All-Mideast Region First Team, while redshirt junior Michaela Dorsey was named to the All-Mideast Region Third Team. It is the first time in program history that the Bobcats have had more than one student-athlete named to the All-Region teams.

  • Ohio Softball Meets with President Nellis

    This morning (May 15), Ohio University President, Dr. M. Duane Nellis met with the Mid-American Conference Champion Ohio Softball team to congratulate them on earning their second-ever MAC Tournament Title and their third trip to the NCAA Tournament. Head Coach Jodi Hermanek also presented President Nellis with a MAC Tournament Championship medal, while the team also posed for a few photos outside of Cutler Hall. 
  • Ohio Softball Heads to Knoxville for NCAA Regionals

    The 2018 Mid-American Conference Champion Ohio softball team (38-15) will head to Knoxville, Tenn. for the 2018 NCAA Regionals. The Bobcats will face off against James Madison (42-12) on Friday, May 18 at 3 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN3. 
  • MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: Ohio Softball Clinches MAC Title and Trip to NCAA Tournament

    For the first time since 2014 the, Ohio softball team is the Mid-American Conference Tournament Champions, downing Northern Illinois, 2-0 Saturday afternoon inside Firestone Stadium. It is the second tournament title for the Bobcats and the first time since 2011 that the MAC Regular Season Champions won the tournament.
  • Ohio Softball to Hold NCAA Selection Show Watch Party at Buffalo Wild Wings on Sunday Night

    With the Ohio softball team capturing the 2018 Mid-American Conference Championship and the automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament, the Bobcats will host a watch party at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Athens, Ohio on Sunday, May 13. The show is set to being at 10 p.m. on ESPN2. Fans wishing to addend should plan on arriving at 9:30 and seating is a first-come-first-serve basis.   • Stiene Tosses No-Hitter to Send Ohio Softball to MAC Championship Game

    Led by Danielle Stiene's six-inning no hitter and a four-RBI day from Mikayla Cooper, the Ohio softball team (37-15) sealed their spot in the 2018 Mid-American Conference Tournament Championship game, after defeating Northern Illinois (23-31), 8-0 in six innings on Friday afternoon. It will mark the third-straight year the top-seeded Ohio has made it to the championship series. The Bobcats will face the winner of No. 2 Ball State and No. 7 NIU tomorrow at 12 p.m. 
  • Ohio Softball Outlasts Kent State, 3-1, to Advance to MAC Tournament Semifinals

    Thanks to a clutch RBI single from MacKenzie Brunswick in the bottom of the sixth inning, the top-seeded Ohio softball team (36-15) outlasted No. 4 Kent State (29-22) in the second round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament, Thursday (May 10) afternoon inside Firestone Stadium. The Bobcats will face off against No.  7 Northern Illinois tomorrow (May 11) at 3:30 p.m. in the semifinals. 
  • Stiene’s 11 Strikeouts Propels Ohio Softball to 1-0 Win in MAC Tournament Opening Round

    Led by Danielle Stiene’s 11 strikeouts, and a clutch RBI single from Natalie Alvarez, the top-seeded Ohio Softball team (35-15) outlasted No. 8 Miami (24-24), 1-0, in the opening round of the 2018 Mid-American Conference Tournament inside Firestone Stadium. The Bobcats will take on No. 5 Kent State tomorrow (May 10) at 1 p.m.

  • Stiene Named MAC Pitcher of the Year; Six Ohio Softball Members Earn All-MAC Honors

    Ohio softball senior pitcher Danielle Stiene was named the 2018 Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Year, while six members of the Bobcats earned spots on All-MAC Teams, the conference announced today. Stiene, Mikayla Cooper and Alex Day earned a spot on the All-MAC First Team, Taylor Saxton and Morgan Geno earned All-MAC Second Team honors, while Katie Yun was named to the MAC All-Freshman Team. Specialty awards and MAC Teams are decided based on a vote by the league’s coaches and are based on conference stats only. 
  • Former Ohio Softball Standout, Dorsey, to Play Professionally in the Netherlands

    Former Ohio softball standout, Savannah Jo Dorsey (Seigneur), has signed on to play professional softball for DSS Haarlem out of the Golden League in Haarlem, Netherlands. Dorsey will participate in the league from the beginning of June to July 15
  • Ohio Softball Wraps Up Regular Season with a Doubleheader Sweep of Bowling Green

    Starting pitcher Danielle Stiene would take a no-hitter into the seventh inning of the second game, helping the Ohio Softball team (34-15, 20-3 MAC) sweep Mid-American Conference East foe Bowling Green (26-26, 8-14 MAC) in a doubleheader today (May 5). The Bobcats took the first game 3-1, and led by Stiene's performance, the Bobcats took game two, 4-0. 
  • Bracket Set for 2018 MAC Softball Tournament

    With the conclusion of today's games, the field has been set for the 2018 Mid-American Conference Softball Tournament. The Ohio softball team (34-15, 20-3 MAC) enters the tournament as the MAC Regular Season Champions and the top seed and will face eighth-seeded Miami (24-23, 11-12 MAC) on Wednesday, May 9. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at Firestone Stadium in Akron, Ohio.   • Ohio Softball Clinches MAC Regular Season Title for the First Time Since 1995

    The Ohio softball team (32-15, 18-3 MAC) continued Mid-American Conference play on Friday (May 4), falling to Bowling Green (26-24, 8-12 MAC), 3-2 on a blustery day in Bowling Green, Ohio. Despite the outcome, a loss by Toledo clinched the 2018 MAC Regular Season Championship for the Bobcats. It is the first time since 1995 that Ohio has won the regular season. Ohio also earns the top seed in next week's MAC Tournament.  
  • Ohio Softball Looks to Clinch MAC Regular Season Title at Bowling Green

    The Ohio softball team (32-14, 18-2 MAC) wraps up the regular season May 4-5 when they head to Bowling Green, Ohio to take on Mid-American Conference East foe Bowling Green (25-24, 7-12). Game one of the three-game series will begin at 3 p.m. on May 4. Ohio and the Falcons will conclude the series with a doubleheader on Saturday, May 5 which is set to begin at 1 p.m.  
  • Stiene Named MAC East Pitcher of the Week; Cooper Named MAC East Co-Player of the Week

    For the fifth-straight week, Ohio softball senior pitcher, Danielle Stiene was named the Mid-American Conference East Pitcher of the Week. Meanwhile, senior first baseman Mikayla Cooper was named the MAC East Co-Player of the Week, the league announced today.

    Taylor Saxton is the ideal student-athlete. She doesn’t cause a coach headaches in the classroom or on the field. In the classroom she’s raising the team’s GPA up and on the field she is the “hype man” who has no problem getting her teammates ready for game day. 
  • Ohio Softball Powers Past Buffalo for Series Sweep

    The Ohio softball team (32-14, 18-2 MAC) wrapped up the home portion of their schedule today, sweeping Buffalo (15-29, 6-14 MAC) in a doubleheader, 17-0 in five innings and 8-0 in five innings. The wins today completed the three-game sweep of the Bulls. Prior to the game, the Bobcats honored seniors Haley Adams, Taylor Saxton, Mikayla Cooper and Danielle Stiene for all they have given to Ohio Softball. 
  • Ohio Softball Continues Winning Ways, Downs Buffalo, 9-1

    The Ohio softball team (30-14, 16-2 MAC) continued their winning ways in Mid-American Conference play this afternoon, defeating Buffalo (15-27, 6-12 MAC), 9-1 in five innings. The Bobcats’ 30thwin of the season marks the third-straight season that the Bobcats have recorded 30-plus wins.
  • Ohio Softball Hosts Buffalo During Senior Weekend

    The Ohio softball team (29-14, 15-2 MAC) returns to Mid-American Conference play for their final home series of the 2018 season when they host Buffalo (15-26, 6-11 MAC) April 27-28 for a three-game series at the Ohio Softball Field. The Bobcats and Bulls will play one game on Friday, April 27 at 4 p.m. The two teams conclude the series on Saturday, April 28 with a doubleheader set to begin at 1 p.m. If you can’t make it to the field, don’t worry, OhioBobcats.com has you covered with an audio broadcast.
