Ohio Men's Golf Closes Out Regular Season At Stitch Intercollegiate

CARY, N.C. -- The Ohio men's golf team placed 12th at the Stitch Intercollegiate with a total team score of 911 (+47) in the 54-hole tournament, which was held at MacGregor Downs Country Club. The Bobcats shot a final-round 303 (+15) on Sunday (April 15) to follow up a first-round 299 (+11) on Friday (April 13) and a second-round 309 (+21) on Saturday (April 15).

Duke won the Stitch Intercollegiate title with a total team score of 828 (-36). After posting a 284 (-4) on Friday, the Blue Devils posted a 270 (-18) on Saturday and a 274 (-14) on Sunday.

Freshman Zach Crawford (Vandalia, Ohio) led Ohio by finishing in a five-way tie for 27th place with a 217 (+1). He bookended a second-round 75 (+3) by posting a 71 (-1) in both the first and third rounds.

Freshman Zach Mandry (Solon, Ohio) recorded his best round of the tournament with a final-round 73 (+1), moving him into a three-way tie for 62nd place with a 230 (+14). After a shooting a 76 (+4) in the first round, he carded an 81 (+9) in the second.

Junior Ben Sattler (Liberty Township, Ohio) and redshirt senior Tom Nettles (McMurray, Pa) tied for 66th place with matching scores of 236 (+20). Sattler posted round scores of 79 (+7), 77 (+5) and 80 (+8) while Nettles recorded rounds of 73 (+1), 79 (+7) and 84 (+12).


Senior Brady Bohl (Dublin, Ohio) finished in 68th with a 239 (+23) after tallying round scores of 82 (+10), 78 (+6) and 79 (+7).


Playing as an individual this weekend, freshman Tanner Johnson (Venetia, Pa) tied for 47th place with a 223 (+7). He carded rounds of 73 (+1), 76 (+4) and 74 (+2).

Junior Ray Kraivixien of Campbell took home Stitch Intercollegiate medalist honors with a 203 (-13), winning the tournament by three strokes. Kraivixien shot a 71 (-1) in the first round, a 61 (-11) in the second round and a 71 (-1) in the final round. His second-round score tied the competitive course record at MacGregor Downs.

The Stitch Intercollegiate marked the conclusion of Ohio's 2017-18 regular season schedule. Next up for the Bobcats is the 2018 Mid American Conference Championships, which is set to be held April 27-29 at Sycamore Hills Country Club in Fort Wayne, Ind.
