ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio men's golf team closes out its 2017 fall schedule by visiting Kettering, Ohio, this week (Oct. 16-17) for the Dayton Flyer Invitational, which will be held at NCR Country Club's South Course.
The first two rounds of the event will be played on Monday (Oct. 16). Final-round action is set for Tuesday (Oct. 17). Competition will begin at 8:45 a.m. ET on both days of the tournament. NCR Country Club's South Course served as the home of the 2005 U.S. Senior Open. The Dayton Flyer Invitational will be played at par 71 and 7,055 yards. Ohio will compete against host Dayton and Mid-American Conference rivals Eastern Michigan and Miami as well as Cleveland State, DePaul, Fort Wayne, Illinois State, Northern Kentucky, Ohio State and Wright State.
The Bobcats are coming off of a 14th-place finish at The Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational last week (Oct. 9-10) at the Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport, W. Va. Ohio posted a total team score of 907 (+43). After shooting a first-round 308 (+20) on Oct. 9, the Bobcats carded rounds of 301 (+13) and 298 (+10) on Oct. 10. Junior Ben Sattler (Liberty Township, Ohio) was the high finisher for Ohio, tying for 27th with a 221 (+5). After shooting a 75 (+3) in the first round, Sattler recorded round scores of 75 (+3) and 71 (-1) to close out the tournament.
