HUNTINGTON, W. Va. -- The Ohio men's golf team placed 11th at the 2017 Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational after tallying a two-round total team score of 583 (+15) on Monday (Sept. 11) at the Guyan Country Club. The Bobcats combined to card an opening-round score of 294 (+10) and followed it up with a 289 (+5) in the second.
Final-round action was set to be played on Tuesday (Sept. 12), but heavy rain forced the cancelation of the remainder of the tournament.
Redshirt senior Tom Nettles (McMurray, Pa.) tied for 19th with a 143 (+1). He improved upon a first-round 73 (+2) with a second-round 70 (-1).
Senior Brady Bohl (Dublin, Ohio) tied for 40th with a 146 (+4) after shooting identical rounds of 73 (+2).
Redshirt freshman Adam Stephens (Dublin, Ohio) tied for 35th place with a 147 (+5) after recording round scores of 74 (+3) and 73 (+2).
Junior Ben Sattler (Liberty Township, Ohio) opened the tournament with rounds of 76 (+5) and 73 (+2) en route to a 149 (+7).
Freshman Zach Crawford (Vandalia, Ohio) tied for 80th place with a 154 (+12) after carding rounds of 74 (+3) and 80 (+9).
Dayton won the 2017 Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational with a combined total team score of 562 (-6) after logging rounds of 283 (-1) and 279 (-5). Marshall senior Alex Weiss earned individual medalist honors with a 131 (-11) thanks to rounds of 66 (-5) and 65 (-6).
Ohio will head to Toledo, Ohio, next week for the Inverness Intercollegiate (Sept. 18-19) at Inverness Club.
