GILBERT, Ariz. — This year, 140 student-athletes have been recognized as Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction.
The Division I Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2018-19 academic year.
This year Ohio field hockey finds four individuals on the Scholars of Distinction list. Sophomore defender Claire Buckey (Powell, Ohio), freshman goalkeeper Nele Graner (Bonn, Germany), freshman midfielder Courtney Klein (Louisville, Ky), and sophomore midfielder Emma Spinetto (Louisville, Ky.) achieved the criteria for this award.

Ohio field hockey has also been announced to the 2018 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team. The Division I National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the 2018-19 school year.
The NFHCA has already announced the 2018 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award and the 2018 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad — the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA National Scholar-Athlete will be announced on April 1.
