Ohio Field Hockey's Ballard Earns NFHCA All-Region Recognition

ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio field hockey's Kendall Ballard (Charlottesville, Va.) earned Longstreth/NFHCA Division I West All-Region second-team honors as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association on Monday (Nov. 27).

The honor marks as Ballard's second all-region recognition, having earned second-team honors in her sophomore season in 2016.

Ballard led the 2017 squad in goals (8), total points (21) and shots (45) and would finish fifth in the Mid-American Conference in both shots and goals. Ballard was also tied to lead the Bobcats in assists with five on the season which ranks seventh in the conference. The junior now has 21 career goals and 10 career assists.

Ballard also earned first-team All-MAC honors for the second time in her career, after recording her first First-Team All-MAC nod her sophomore season and Second Team honors as a freshman in 2015. The junior was also awarded MAC Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, Sept. 26 following a two-goal, one-assist weekend against Davidson and Appalachian State (Sept. 22-24).
