Ohio Field Hockey Announces 2017 Schedule

ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio Field Hockey team released its 2017 fall schedule, 13th-year head coach Neil Macmillan announced.

The Bobcats will play 10 nonconference games with three of them at Pruitt Field and one at a neutral site, and five Mid-American Conference games, with three of them at home.

The Bobcats will hit the road for one exhibition game during the 2017 season when they take on Ohio State on Aug. 17 at 3:30 p.m. before hosting the Buckeyes during the regular season on Sept. 17 at 1 p.m.

The Bobcats will begin the regular season on the road with a weekend matchup when they take on St. Louis on Saturday, Aug. 26 at 1 p.m. Ohio will then open with Ball State on Sunday, Aug. 27 at 2 p.m. in Muncie, Ind. Ohio will continue the season on the road when they compete against Cornell on Friday, Sept. 1 and Syracuse on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 2 p.m.

Ohio will host its first game on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 12 p.m. against VCU. The Bobcats and the Rams will compete again on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 1 p.m. at Pruitt Field.

Ohio will continue to compete at home when they play host to MAC-foe, Miami on Friday, Sept. 15 at 3 p.m. The Bobcats will stay in Athens on Sunday, Sept. 17 to host Ohio State at 1 p.m.

Ohio will hit the road again for a matchup with MAC newcomer Appalachian State on Friday, Aug. 23 followed by competition with Davidson on Sunday, Sept. 25. Before returning home, the Bobcats will travel to compete with MAC-rival Central Michigan on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m.

The Bobcats will return to Athens to continue conference play against Longwood on Friday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. before traveling to Indiana to compete with the Hoosiers on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 2 p.m.

Ohio's last home contest will take place on Thursday, Oct. 12 against Ball State at 7 p.m. Following the final home game, the Bobcats will have a bye-week before rounding out the season.

The Bobcats will then travel to Kent, Ohio to take on MAC champion Kent State on Saturday, Oct. 28 before heading to Louisville for the last game of the regular season on Sunday, Oct. 29.

The MAC Tournament is set to for Nov. 2-4 as Kent State is set to host the tournament once again.
