NEW YORK -- Redshirt junior tight end Ryan Luehrman (Athens, Ohio) of the Ohio football team has been named John Mackey Tight End of the Week Honorable Mention, as announced by the John Mackey Award today.
Luehrman tallied a career-high four receptions for a career-high 60 yards in Ohio's tough 33-31 loss to host Marshall in a Battle for the Bell matchup last Saturday (Sept. 14) at Joan C. Edwards Stadium in Huntington, W. Va. Luehrman's outing included a career-long 36-yard reception in the second quarter. He then caught his second touchdown in the last three games and second of his career in the third quarter, hauling in a seven-yard scoring strike.
Ohio (1-2) closes out its 2019 non-conference schedule when it hosts Louisiana (2-1) on Saturday (Sept. 21) in a Parents Day weekend contest at Peden Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. ET.
