Academic Excellence

Academic Excellence

The excellence achieved by OHIO's student-athletes extends beyond the field of play and into the classroom. Thanks to strong academic support, OHIO student-athletes consistently excel in the classroom and participate in many career development, community service and wellness activities. After the 2019 spring semester, 80 percent of our student-athletes carried a 3.0 GPA or better -- including 28 who earned a perfect 4.0 GPA.

"As valuable as intercollegiate athletics participation is for student-athletes, it is also an integral part of our vibrant campus community. Whether it's connecting Bobcats from across the decades on a beautiful fall homecoming weekend, cheering on the softball team during its 2018 NCAA Regional run, or celebrating the individual accomplishments of student-athletes on and off the field of play, OHIO Athletics makes OHIO University and Athens a better place to live, work and play for all of us."
- Dr. Heather Lawrence-Benedict, Associate Professor, Associate Dean of Graduate Programs, Robert H. Freeman Professor In Business, Faculty Athletic Representative
