Ohio Athletics Mourns the Passing of Kermit Blosser Hall of Fame Member Jerry Jackson

ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio Athletics is saddened to hear of the passing of Kermit Blosser Hall of Fame member Jerry Jackson. 
 
Jackson was inducted into the Kermit Blosser Hall of Fame in 1977. 
 
Jackson was a four-year member of the Ohio men's basketball team from 1961-1964. Jackson was the Bobcats' leading scorer in his three varsity seasons, recording 363, 367 and 475 points respectively, helping him fished with 1,205 career points and was a three-time All-MAC selection. 
 
Jackson led the celebrated 1963-1964 MAC Championship team that won 21 games and advanced to the NCAA tournament. His efforts helped lead the Bobcats to the Elite Eight that season, becoming the first MAC team to advance that far in the NCAA Tournament. 
 
Jackson was drafted 65th overall by the Detroit Pistons in 1964 NBA Draft. 

Jerry is survived by his wife, Anita Patricia Grant Jackson of Concord, NC; daughters, Kimberly M. Reynolds and Kristina A. Graham (Christopher); four grandchildren, Jordan Graham (Katie), Daphne Reynolds, Jaden Graham, and Danielle Reynolds; sister, Charlotte Newell, brother, Bert Croner, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00PM on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord, NC. The funeral service will be on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 10:00AM at the Charlotte Church, 2200 Ashley Rd., Charlotte, NC 28208. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens, 1504 W. Sugar Creek Road, Charlotte, NC.
