CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Ohio football graduate student quarterback Parker Navarro was named the Mid-American Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Week, the league announced today (Sept. 17). 

Navarro (Tempe, Ariz.), sports a 3.968 and helped lead Ohio's offense this past Saturday at No. 1 Ohio State. Navarro went 3-for-13 for 94 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. Navarro's longest pass of the game came in the opening minutes of the third quarter when he completed a 67-yard touchdown pass to Chase Hendricks for Ohio's first touchdown of the game.

Navarro and the rest of the Bobcats are back in Athens on Saturday, Sept. 20 when Ohio hosts Gardner-Webb. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET at Frank Solich Field at Peden Stadium and can be seen on ESPN+.
