ATHENS, Ohio –The 2025-26 Ohio athletics season is officially underway! Ohio soccer kicks things off this week for two matches at Chessa Field. Check out everything that's ahead for Ohio Athletics in this week's Paw Prints.

The 2025-26 season is officially underway this week when Ohio soccer kicks off the season with two matches in Athens. The Bobcats begin the season on Thursday, Aug. 14 when Ohio hosts Western Kentucky (0-0). First touch is set for 4 p.m. ET at Chessa Field. Ohio then returns to the pitch on Sunday, Aug. 17 to take on ACC opponent Clemson (0-0) at 12:30 p.m. ET. Both games can be seen on ESPN+.
Western Kentucky finished last season 3-8-5 and 1-3-5 in conference play, with the Bobcats defeating the Hilltoppers, 2-1 on the road early in the season. Meanwhile, Clemson and Ohio will face off for the first time ever on Sunday. Clemson finished last season 6-8-3 and 2-7-1 in ACC play.
Ohio is coming off an 11-5-4 2024 season and a 5-3-3 mark in MAC play. Ohio returns MAC Defensive Player of the Year, Norah Roush, as well as All-MAC First Team selections, Eve Berish and Jaimason Brooker, as well as Second Team All-MAC selections Celeste Sloma and Maia Kaufman.
