MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ohio women's basketball team (6-23, 4-14 MAC) concluded its season with an 82-57 loss at Ball State (24-7, 16-2 MAC) on Saturday, March 8.
Senior
Kennedi Watkins (Ballwin, Mo.) led the team with 25 points; shooting 8-for-16 from the field, 4-for-6 from the arc and 5-for-6 from the line. Sophomore
Bailey Tabeling (Seymour, Ind.) finished with 13 points and four rebounds.
With 6:39 left in the first quarter, Ohio led Ball State 12-6. Ball State tied the game up at 16-16 with 3:19 to go in the quarter. After a 6-0 scoring run, Ball State led Ohio 22-18 at the conclusion of the first quarter.
The Cardinals kicked off the second quarter with a 13-0 scoring run. Ball State outscored Ohio in the second quarter, 24-10. Heading into the locker room, Ohio trailed Ball State 46-28.
During the third quarter, there was a lot of back-and-forth scoring between both teams. Ohio tried to close in on Ball State's lead but the Cardinals kept them at a distance. After three quarters of play, Ohio trailed Ball State 64-42.
Despite their efforts, the Bobcats could not catch up with the Cardinals in the fourth quarter. Ball State went on to win the game 82-57.
