FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- Ohio swimming sophomore
Zita Szoke wrapped up her second day at the 2025 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships in Federal Way, Wash. on Friday (March 21). Szoke placed 20th overall in the 200-yard freestyle, setting a new personal best and school record with a time of 1:44.54.
Szoke (Hodmezovasarhely, Hungary) placed first in her heat with the 1:44.54 time. Szoke is the first Bobcat since 2000 to earn a top-20 finish at NCAAs. She is also the highest-placing Bobcat at NCAA's since Laurin Williams placed 23rd in the 1650 in 2012.
Szoke concludes her time in Washington on Saturday, March 22 when she will compete in the 100-yard freestyle. Prelims are set for 1 p.m. ET with finals scheduled for 9 a.m. ET. Both sessions can be seen on ESPN+.
