OCALA, Fla. – The Ohio swimming and diving team wrapped up competition at the 2025 CSCAA National Invitational Championship March 13-15 at the FAST Facility in Ocala, Fla. Overall, Ohio placed 12th with 722.7 points.
On Thursday, the first day of competition, the Bobcats' 200 free relay team placed 23
rd with a time of 1:34.36.
Junior
Allison Schrank (Blaine, Minn.) was back in the pool for the 50 back, where she competed in the 'A' final, placing 10
th overall with a time of 25.42. Later in the evening, junior
Anna McGrath (Lewis Center, Ohio) placed 20
th in the 500 free, finishing the race with a time of 4:54.56.
In the 50-yard breaststroke, Ohio had two swimmers place in the top five, with junior
Casadie DiBetta (St. Clairsville, Ohio) finishing fourth with a time of 27.97 and senior
Julia Strine (Shippensburg, Pa.) in fifth, finishing the race in 28.12.
In the final race of day one, the 400-yard medley relay, the Bobcats finished 17
th with a time of 3:44.49.
Friday's competition started with the 200 yard medley relay, where Ohio finished 27
th with a time of 1:43.09.
I the 400 IM, senior
Gabrielle McKee (Gilbertsville, Pa.), was back in action, finishing 12
th with a time of 4:17.51. The in the 100 fly, freshman
Jordan Claypoole (Parkersburg, W. Va.) finished 13
th overall, touching in with a time of 54.45
In the 100-yard breaststroke finals, DiBetta was back in action, finishing second, touching in with a time of 1:00.58. Then in the final event of the night, the 800 free relay, Ohio finished 10
th, touching in with a time of 7:23.81.
During Saturday's final night of competition, McGrath was back in action in the 1,000 free, placing 18
th with a time of 10:10.88. She then competed in the 1650 free, finishing 19
th with a time of 16:55.96.
In the 200-yard breaststroke finals, DiBetta earned a second-place finish, touching the wall with a time of 2:12.00.
In diving, sophomore
Astrid Pichardo (Guanajuato, Mexico) finished the 1-meter event in 18
th, finishing with an overall score of 237.70. Pichardo was back on the boards for the 3-meter event, placing 23
rd with a score of 243.10.
Up next, the 2024-25 season ends at the 2025 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships March 19-22 in Federal Way, Washington, where sophomore
Zita Szoke (Hodmezovasarhely, Hungary) will compete in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events.
