CLEVELAND —
Ohio wrestling alumnus Jake Percival has been named to the 2025 Mid-American Conference Hall of Fame, as announced today by the conference (March 14).

Percival wrestled for the Bobcats from 2002-05 and is the first four-time All-American in MAC history. He finished his college career with a 113-4 regular season record and was undefeated in MAC duals. In postseason, Percival posted a 29-6 overall record, highlighted by an 11-0 MAC Championships run with four MAC Championships first-place titles and 18-6 record at the NCAA Championships, where he placed four times.

In his first trip to the National tournament in 2002, Percival was the eighth seed and finished fourth in the 149-pound bracket, highlighted by a victory by fall in the opening round and an 18-4 major decision over fourth seed Mike Zadick (Iowa). In 2003, Percival was the fourth seed in the 149-pound bracket, ultimately placing fifth.

In 2004, Percival was the fourth seed in the 157-pound bracket. He placed second after losing by a 4-2 decision in the championship match against the tournament's second seed, Matt Gentry (Stanford). He rounded out his college career with a third-place finish at 157 pounds in 2005. Percival was the bracket's fifth seed; he opened the tournament with a technical fall at 3:56, registering two more victories before he was defeated by eighth seed Joe Johnston (Iowa). In overtime, Percival defeated 10th seed Brian Sith (Arizona State) to secure the third place.

Percival competed in the NWCA All-Star Classic three times, winning twice. In 2003, he competed at 149 pounds and defeated Dustin Manotti (Cornell) by an 8-4 decision. In 2005 at 157 pounds, he defeated Ryan Bertin (Michigan) with an 11-7 decision. At the time, Bertin was a one-time NCAA Champion (2003) and went on to win the 2005 NCAA Championships as well.

The MAC Hall of Fame was approved by the MAC Council of Presidents in 1987.  The charter class was inducted in 1988 and subsequent classes were added in 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992 and 1994.  After six induction classes, the MAC Hall of Fame maintained 52 members until it was reinstated in May of 2012. This year's class brings the number of MAC Hall of Fame inductees to 130 individuals from 19 classes.

The 2025 MAC Hall of Fame class will be inducted on Thursday, May 29 at the Marriott Key Tower. Ticket information for the 2025 MAC honors dinner and Hall of Fame celebration will be announced at later date.
