MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Ohio women's basketball team (4-17, 2-9 MAC) fell at Central Michigan (9-13, 5-6 MAC) 75-48 on Wednesday, Feb. 5.
Senior
Kennedi Watkins (Ballwin, Mo.) led the team with a total of 17 points. Graduate student
Anyssa Jones (Westerville, Ohio) recorded a team-high seven rebounds, three steals and three assists.
The Bobcats get on the board first with a bucket by Watkins. However, Central Michigan dominated for majority of the quarter, going on a 15-0 run and leading 15-4 with 3:53 to go. Ohio trailed Central Michigan 23-10 at the end of the first quarter.
Ohio's shooting continued to struggle in the second quarter while Central Michigan continued to find success offensively. Heading into the locker room, the Chippewas led the Bobcats 48-22.
Central Michigan outscored Ohio 24-15 in the third quarter. Despite their efforts, the Bobcats trailed the Chippewas 72-37 heading into the fourth quarter.
After four quarters of play, Ohio ultimately fell to Central Michigan 75-48.
The Bobcats will be back in action at Southern Mississippi for its second game of the MAC-SBC Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 8. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. ET and the game will be available to watch on ESPN+.
