CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference released the 2025-26 MAC Wrestling Preseason Poll, ranking Ohio eighth among the league's 12 teams. The 10 individual weight classes were also ranked and announced on Thursday, Oct. 30.
The Bobcats finished sixth at the 2025 MAC championships, with
Garrett Thompson (Murrysville, Pa.) as Ohio's lone individual MAC champion at 174 lbs. Thompson was also named the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler.

Individually, Ohio has 10 wrestlers ranked among the top 10 in their respective weight classes, beginning with junior
Ryan Meek (Luebbering, Mo.), ranked 10th at 125 lbs. Last season, Meek started for the Bobcats at 125 pounds, and competed in his first MAC Championship.
In the 133 lb class, sophomore
Kolten Barker (Louisville, Ohio) begins the season ranked 10
th in the conference. Barker returns after wrestling for the Bobcats in the 133-pound class last season.
At 141 lbs., redshirt sophomore
Kaden Jett (Broadview Heights, Ohio) begins the season ranked 10
th in the conference. Jett was a starter for the Bobcats in the 141-pound class in the 2024-25 season, going 6-12 overall and 4-6 in dual meets including one major decision win. Jett also competed in the MAC Championships for the first time.
Junior
Derek Raike (Point Pleasant, W.Va.), begins the season ranked fourth in the 149 lb. class, coming off a 2024-25 season where he recorded a 16-6 overall record
as a starter for the Bobcats. Raike recorded a 7-1 record in MAC dual meets, including three falls, four technical falls and three major decision wins. Raike finished fifth at the MAC Championship at 149 lbs.
In the 157 lb. class, redshirt junior
Logan Cravatas (Medina, Ohio) starts the season ranked seventh. Cravatas comes off a 2024-25 season as a starter for the Bobcats in the 157-pound division. He finished the season with a 8-14 record and 4-7 dual record, recording one fall and two major decisions wins.
At 165 lbs, junior
Jack Lledo (Penn Valley, Pa.) ranks 11
th in the preseason poll. Lledo returns after a 2024-25 season where he recorded a 9-15 overall and 6-7 dual record as the 165-pound class starter for the Bobcats. Lledo recorded one technical fall, two major decisions and one sudden victory win.
In the 174 lb. class, senior
Garrett Thompson returns after a strong 2024-25 season that included an individual MAC championship at 174 lbs. and a trip to the NCAA Championships. Thompson finished the season with a 30-7 overall record, going 10-1 in dual meets and 7-1 against MAC competition. He recorded four falls, nine technical falls and eight major decision wins.
Senior
Sal Perrine (Northfield, Ohio) begins the season ranked second in the 184 lb. class, returning to the Bobcats after missing the 2024-25 season. In the 2023-24 season, Perrine served as a team captain while compiling a 20-11 record at 174 pounds, recording two falls, three technical falls, and two major decisions. He placed fourth at the 2024 MAC Championships.
In the 197 lb class, Senior
Zayne Lehman (Akron, Ohio) begins the year ranked fifth in the preseason poll, returning to the Bobcats after missing the 2024-25 season. In the 2023-24 season, Lehman served as a team captain, compiling an overall record of 16-7, including 8-1 in dual meets and 8-2 against MAC competition. He recorded four technical falls and two major decisions, and placed 7th in the MAC at 184 pounds.
Rounding out the Bobcats ranked in preseason polls, sophomore
Wyatt Schmitt begins the season ranked 12
th in the 285 lb. division. Schmitt returns to the mat following a freshman campaign where he recorded a 5-5 overall record in the 285-pound class, earning one fall win.
Ohio will open the 2025-26 season on Sunday, November 2 when they travel to Salem, Va. to compete in the Southeast Open. Streaming and live results will be available on flowrestling.com.
