ATHENS, Ohio – The 2024 Mid-American Conference Women's Golf Championships begin this week, with the Bobcats hosting this year's event in Grove City, while football hosts the spring scrimmage and softball is back in Athens! WOMEN'S GOLF
April 21-23 / at Mid-American Conference Championships / Grove City, Ohio / Pinnacle Golf Club / All Day / ESPN+ / Watch / Live Results / Championship Central
The Ohio women's golf team is set to host the 2024 Mid-American Conference Championships April 21-23 at Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City, Ohio. The three-day tournament will begin with 18 holes on Sunday, April 21, with the next 18 set for Monday, April 22. The event concludes on Tuesday, April 23 with the final 18 holes and the championship ceremony.
Ohio is coming off a second-place finish at the 2024 Lady jaguar Invitational this past weekend, the Bobcats' best performance of the 2023-24 season, one week before teeing off at the Mid-American Conference Championship. In a field of 11 teams, the Bobcats shared second place with Butler, finishing the two-round tournament with a total score of 607 (+31). Ohio finished one stroke off of the winners, Ball State who finished with a 606 (+30). The rest of the field included IUPUI, Marian, Green Bay, Akron, Northern Kentucky, Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, and DePauw.
Leading the way for the Bobcats was freshman Zoe Luebbers placing in a tie for third overall. Luebbers finished her first day with a score of 74 (+2) with three birdies. In the second round, Luebbers had one birdie and one eagle, finishing with a 75 (+3).
FOOTBALL
April 20 / Spring Scrimmage / Athens, Ohio / Frank Solich Field at Peden Stadium / 11 a.m.
The Ohio football program's 2024 spring scrimmage is set for 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 20. The free public scrimmage will begin at 11 a.m. and will take place for approximately one hour. After the practice has concluded, fans will be invited onto Frank Solich Field to participate in fan activities and interact with the Ohio football program.
The annual spring surplus sale will also be open to fans, also beginning at 11 a.m. located under the Sook Academic Center. Additionally, Gameday Spirit will also be selling merchandise under Sook Center.
Ohio University Culinary Services will have a food truck outside gate one of Peden Stadium, and will also be hosting a canned food drive for Cats Cupboard.
Fans can enter Peden Stadium through gate one and gate two.

Ohio softball (20-19, 8-6 MAC) is back in action for five MAC games this week starting on Tuesday, April 16 when they head to Toledo for a doubleheader with the Rockets (19-16, 10-5 MAC). First pitch is set to start at 11 a.m. at Scott Park, with game two to follow 30 minutes after the end of game one. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+. Ohio then returns to Athens April 20-21 for a three-game series with Western Michigan (20-17, 9-5 MAC). The Bobcats and Broncos open the series on Saturday, April 20 with a doubleheader set to start at 1 p.m., with game two to follow 30 minutes after. The three-game series concludes on Sunday, April 21, first pitch is set for 12 p.m. at the Ohio Softball Field. All three games will be streamed on YouTube.
Toledo and WMU both sit ahead of the Bobcats in the MAC standings.
Ohio last saw action on a MAC game two weeks ago with sweeps of Kent State and Northern Illinois, stretching their winning streak to seven games and securing 20 wins for the fourth-straight season.

Ohio baseball (10-21, 6-12 MAC) is back in action for four more games starting on Wednesday, April 17 when they head to Dayton, Ohio for a midweek matchup with Dayton (22-13). First pitch is set for 3 p.m. at Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium. Ohio then stays on the road to head to Bowling Green, Ohio to take on Bowling Green (19-11, 15-0 MAC) in a three-game series. Game one begins on Friday, April 19 with a game at 3 p.m., with game two set for Saturday, April 20 with first pitch set for 1 p.m. The two teams conclude the series on Sunday, April 21 with first pitch set for 1 p.m. All three games will be streamed on ESPN+ at Stellar Field.
The Bobcats are coming off a series win last weekend at Eastern Michigan, taking games two and three of the series.

TRACK AND FIELD

The Ohio track and field team is back on the road this week for the 2024 Jesse Owens Track Classic, April 19-20 at Jesse Owens Stadium. The two-day event begins on Friday, April 19 around noon, with the meet set to begin around the same time on Saturday.
The Bobcats are coming off impressive distance performances at the 2024 Brian Clay Invite last week. Junior
Kelsi Harris raced in the women's 10,000 meters. Harris placed 11
th with a time of 34:19.40 and Sophomore
Leila Boussedra earned an impressive second-place finish in heat one of the event and ran a personal-best time of 16:31.48.
The Bobcats also wrapped up the 2024 Cherry Blossom Invite in Athens. Freshman
Gracie Smith represented Ohio in the 100m hurdles with a first-place time of 15.94. Ohio earned four of the top 10 spots in the women's 200m.
Taja Booker placed second (24.91),
Taniah Stephens took home third (25.15), Ellas Baker placed fifth (25.23) and
Jada Irwin finished seventh (25.62).

The Ohio men's golf team returns to action for two events this week to conclude the regular season. Ohio begins the week April 15-16 at the 2024 Highland Meadows Intercollegiate hosted by Bowling Green at the Highland Meadows Country Club in Sylvania, Ohio. The Bobcats will play 36 holes on Monday, April 15 and conclude the tournament with 18 holes on Tuesday.
Competing at the event are Bucknell, Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana Hills CC, North Dakota State, Miami, Bowling Green, Youngstown State, St. Thomas, Niagara and St. Francis. While,

Carson Trafford,
Matt Daulton and
Will Kates are competing for Ohio.
The Bobcats conclude the regular season April 19-21 at the 2024 Robert Kepler Invite in Columbus, Ohio. The three-day event is hosted by Ohio State at the OSU Golf Course: Scarlet Course, with 18 holes taking place each day.
