Athens, Ohio –Welcome back Bobcats! It's time to start the semester off strong. Check out everything that's ahead for Ohio Athletics in this week's Paw Prints. 

MEN'S BASKETBALL

The Ohio men's basketball team (7-9, 1-3 MAC) is back in Athens for two games this week to kick off the semester. The week starts on Tuesday, Jan. 16 when Ohio hosts Central Michigan (8-8, 3-1 MAC). Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside the Convocation Center and can be seen on ESPN+. Fans are encouraged to where white to 'white out' the Convo and the first 350 students will receive a free '740' t-shirt. Ohio is back in action on Saturday, Jan. 20 when the Bobcats host Eastern Michigan (8-8, 1-3 MAC). Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. inside the Convo and can be seen on ESPN+. The game is the second game of a men's and women's basketball doubleheader.

The Ohio women's basketball team (4-11, 1-3 MAC) is back in action for more MAC play this week starting on Wednesday, Jan. 17 when the Bobcats head to Kalamazoo, Mich. to take on Western Michigan (5-9, 0-4 MAC). Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside University Arena and can be seen on ESPN+. Ohio is back in Athens on Saturday, Jan. 20 when Ohio hosts Eastern Michigan (4-10, 1-3 MAC). Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+. The game is also the first game of the day for a men's and women's basketball doubleheader. 

WRESTLING
Jan. 19 / vs George Mason / Athens, Ohio / VConvocation Center / 7 p.m. EST / ESPN+ / Watch / Live Results  

Ohio wrestling (4-3) is back in Athens on Friday, Jan. 19 when Ohio hosts George Mason (9-4). Meet time is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside the Convocation Center and can be seen on ESPN+. 

The Bobcats are coming off a meet at Northern Illinois on Jan. 12. Redshirt sophomore Peyten Kellar (Warren, Ohio) collected the Bobcats' first win of the day after they dropped their first four bouts. Kellar defeated Tulga Zuunbayan by a 7-1 decision in the 157-pound class. Redshirt sophomore Garrett Thompson (Murraysville, Pa.) followed him with a win of his own. He won by fall over Tommy Bennett in the 165-pound class. Ohio earned two more back-to-back wins in the 184- and 197-pound classes. Junior Zayne Lehman (Akron, Ohio) defeated Shane Moran 5-0 and Sophomore Austin Starr (Indian Creek, Ohio) collected an 8-1 decision over Sean Carroll.  

INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD
Jan. 19-20 / at Hokie Invitational / Blacksburg, Va. / Rector Field House / Friday 4 p.m. / Saturday: 11:30 a.m. / Tentative Schedule

The Ohio track and field team is back in action after a successful opening weekend when they head to Blacksburg, Va. for the 2024 Hokie Invitational Jan. 19-20. The two-day event will take place at Rector Field House on the campus of Virginia Tech. Friday's field events will begin at 4 p.m., with track events set for 5 p.m. On Saturday, field events will start at 11:3 a.m., with track events set to start at 2 p.m.

Ohio is coming off an opening weekend at the Bowling Green Falcon Early Bird Open. The Bobcats were led by Alyssa Mason with first-place finishes in the mile and the 3000m. 

SWIMMING & DIVING 
Jan. 20 / at Buffalo / Buffalo, N.Y. / Alumni Arena Natatorium / 11 a.m. 

The Ohio swimming in diving team (5-0) is back in action this weekend when they head to Buffalo, N.Y. to take on Buffalo (1-3) in their final road dual meet of the season. The meet is set to begin at 11 a.m. inside the Alumni Arena Natatorium.
  
The Bobcats last competed on Jan. 4 against Marshall, earning the 183.5-116.5 victory over the Herd in Athens.
