Athens, Ohio – And just like that, the 2023-24 season is officially here with Ohio soccer kicking off the year in Athens. Check out that and what else ahead for Ohio Athletics in this week's Paw Prints.

The 2023 Ohio soccer season is officially underway this week when Ohio opens the 2023 regular season on Thursday, Aug. 17 against Duquesne. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Chessa Field and will be streamed live on YouTube.
Ohio enters the season with a handful of veteran returners, including fifth years Haley Miller and Ella Bianco. Also making their returns are Carsyn Prigge and Isabella Ginocchi. Miller and Bianco started in almost all of Ohio's matches last season, while Prigge started all 19. Ginocchi started 13 games before sustaining a season-ending injury.
The Bobcats also welcome eight new freshmen to the roster, including

Ellie Greenwell,
Jaimason Brooker,
Maria Copfer,
Melia Peer,
Rylee Mensel,
Sydney Crowe, and
Tavyn Baffa.
The Bobcats are coming off a 10-7-2 2022 season and a trip to the MAC Quarterfinals. The Bobcats also had three All-MAC honorees and saw nine earn Academic All-MAC honors.
