YORKTOWN, INDIANA -- Ohio's women's golf team finished up their third and final round today (Sept. 20), at The Brittany Kelly Cardinal Classic placing 7th overall. The Cardinal Classic began on Monday morning (Sept. 19), consisting of three rounds and 54 holes over the course of two days. The Bobcats concluded the Cardinal Classic with a final score of 903 (+39), placing them 7th overall out of the 12 teams.
The Bobcats hovered around the middle of the standings during the tournament but ultimately moved up two spots today after their final round. The Bobcat's score from rounds one and two were consistent at 305 putting them in 9
th to start the third and final round. The Bobcat's shot their best team score of the tournament today (Sept. 20) in round three at 293 (+5). All around, the Bobcats had a solid tournament in Indiana.
Individually, freshman MacKenzie McRee led the Bobcat's finishing in 7
th place overall shooting a 220 (+4), with Junior
Mariana Vega-Rivera following behind in 14
th with a score of 224 (+8),
Sydney Longstreth in 33
rd shooting a 229 (+13), and
Avery Ovens posted a score of 230 (+14).
Thanya Arasu finished out for the team in 57th place overall scoring a 237 (+21).
Alaina Nugent competed as an individual in the Cardinal Classic placing in 65
th overall with a final score of 244 (+28).
The first-place golfer for the 2022 Brittany Kelly Cardinal Classic was Kiah Parrott from Ball State, posting a very impressive 207 (-9), helping carry her team to the 5th overall spot in the Cardinal Classic with a total score of 894 (+12). The first-place team was the Loyola Ramblers at 879 (+15) to par, helping them secure their first Cardinal Classic win since 2018.
