PAW PRINTS: The Week Ahead in Ohio Athletics

ATHENS, Ohio-- Both basketball teams return to Athens, while the wrestling and track & field teams travel north to compete. Read about that and much more in this week's edition of Paw Prints.

The Bobcats return to Athens this week with three home games. First, Ohio will take on Ball State on Tuesday. The Bobcats have won the last two games against the Cardinals, including an eight-point win in their last meeting. On Thursday, Eastern Michigan will come to The Convo as Ohio looks to win its fourth-straight game against the Eagles. The Bobcats will finish the home-stand on Saturday with a game against Western Michigan. Ohio has won 11 of its last 12 home games against the Broncos.

The Ohio women's basketball team will also start its week against Ball State, a team they've defeated in the last two matchups. Ball State currently sits one spot below the Bobcats in the MAC standings. Ohio will then hit the road to play Northern Illinois. The Bobcats have taken six of the last seven games against the Huskies.

TRACK AND FIELD
February 4-5 / at Akron Indoor Meet / Akron, Ohio / Stile Field House

The Bobcats track and field team will travel to Akron on Friday to compete at the 18th Annual Akron Invitational. They will look to improve on personal records as they draw closer to the MAC Championships.

WRESTLING
February 4 / at Kent State / Kent, Ohio / MAC Center / 7 p.m.
February 5 / at Cleveland State / Cleveland, Ohio / Wolstein Center / 7 p.m.


The Bobcats will travel north over the weekend for two big conference duals. First they will take on Kent State as they look for their second-straight win over the Golden Flashes on Friday. On Saturday, Ohio will make the trip to Cleveland State to take on the Vikings. This will be the first matchup between the two teams.
