DAVIDSON, N.C. -- The Ohio field hockey team (4-8, 1-2Â MAC) defeated Davidson 3-2 in a double overtime thriller at Alumni Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Bobcats fell behind early as Davidson scored their first goal off a penalty corner less than two minutes into the game. Ohio responded minutes later as fifth year senior
Jillian Shive scored her seventh goal of the season, assisted by
Leah Warren, her second of the season.
Shive gave the Bobcats their first lead of the game when she scored again in the second quarter, her eighth goal of the season and third multi-goal game of the season.
The Wildcats once again evened the score on another penalty corner in the third quarter. From there, neither team broke the tie for nearly 40 minutes. Ohio took four shots with two on goal in the first overtime and defended two shots on goal.

Kaelyn Long scored the game-winner in the 77th minute of the contest after a combined 34 shots with 26 on goal for both teams. In the net for the Bobcats, senior goalkeeper
Nele Graner made a season-high 11 saves with two goals allowed.
