ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio athletics have five sports in action this week, with football taking their bye week as they prepare for their clash against Miami in early November. Ohio soccer headlines the week of action with a match against Kent State to determine the winner of the regular season title, and volleyball aims to continue their hot start to conference play. That, and much more, in this week's edition of Paw Prints!
SOCCER
October 28 / vs. Kent State / Athens, OH. / Chessa Field / 3 p.m.
The Ohio Bobcats soccer team returns home for a match against Kent State on Thursday (Oct. 28) at Chessa Field that will determine the MAC regular season title. Ohio will be looking to bounce back after falling short to Central Michigan on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 24).
Ohio and Kent State sit at the top of the MAC conference table, tied for first, with records of 7-1-2 and 23 points. First touch is scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday.
FIELD HOCKEY
October 30 / vs. Longwood / Athens, OH / Pruitt Field / 1 p.m.
The Bobcat field hockey team will take on Longwood University Saturday (Oct. 30) afternoon in its final game of the regular season with first touch set for 1 p.m. at Pruitt Field.
Ohio and Longwood last played in 2020, with the Bobcats winning 3-1.
VOLLEYBALL
October 29 / at Western Michigan / Kalamazoo, MI / University Arena / 6 p.m.
October 30 / at Northern Illinois / DeKalb, IL / Victor E. Court / 6 p.m.
Ohio volleyball hits the road as it continues conference play with matches against Western Michigan on Friday (Oct. 29) and Northern Illinois on Saturday (Oct. 30). The first match against Western Michigan is set to begin at 6 p.m. while the match against Northern Illinois will start at 7 p.m.
CROSS COUNTRY
October 30 / at MAC Championships / Ypsilanti, MI / 11 a.m.
The Bobcat cross country teams will travel to Ypsilanti, Michigan to participate in the MAC Championships Saturday (Oct. 30). The men's 8K race is set to begin at 11 a.m. while the women's 6K race is set for 12 p.m.
SWIM & DIVE
October 30 / at Ball State / Muncie, IN / Lewellen Aquatic Center / 11 a.m.
Ohio Swimming continues its season on the road, taking on Ball State Saturday (Oct. 30) at 11 a.m. for the team's first conference meet of the 2021-22 season.
