Setty and Simmons also chipped in baskets while redshirt junior forward Kenny Kaminski (Medina, Ohio) drained a trey.
• The Bulls made it a five-point contest thanks to a pair of free throws by senior guard/forward Rodell Wigginton and a conventional three-point play by Hamilton, but Ohio countered with a pair of treys by Dartis and a jumper by Simmons to up its lead back to nine at 23-14 with just under 12 minutes left in the half.
• A pair of free throws by Massinburg made it a seven-point affair with just over 11 minutes to go, but Ohio responded with a 18-4 run courtesy of a layup by sophomore guard Mike Laster (Detroit, Mich.) and a pair of free throws and a layup by Simmons, a layup by Campbell and a pair of freebies and two treys by Dartis and another layup by Campbell to extend its edge to a half-high 21 points at 41-20 with 4:38 to go in the first half.
