HOW IT HAPPENED
• Ohio recorded its first wire-to-wire win of the year by virtue of a 50.9 percent (28-of-55) shooting performance â€" including a season-best 53.8 percent (14-of-26) effort from beyond the arc. The Bobcats also notched a season-best 25 assists and nine blocks and outrebounded the Spartans, 37-24. Ohio led the way in points off turnovers (11-3), fastbreak points (19-4) and bench points (17-8).
• Simmons recorded his first career double-double with 11 points and a career-high 13 assists in addition to a career-high three steals over 36 minutes of work. He went a perfect 9-for-9 from the charity stripe. Simmons recorded 10 of his 13 assists in the first half.
• Freshman guard/forward Gavin Block (Lincoln, Ill.) came off the bench to score a career-high 19 points off of a career-best 6-of-9 shooting performance -- including a career-best 3-of-5 from three-point range. He also converted 4-of-6 free throw attempts. Block scored 11 of his points in the second half. He also added a career-high six rebounds, six assists and two steals in 25 minutes of work.
• Redshirt senior forward Treg Setty (Maysville, Ky.) finished with a season-best 16 points courtesy of a 6-of-10 shooting effort that included a 4-of-7 performance from three-point range. He also tallied five rebounds and a steal in 30 minutes of work.
• Junior forward Antonio Campbell (Cincinnati, Ohio) posted his first double-double of the season with a season-high 13 points and 10 rebounds to go along with a career-high four blocks in 25 minutes. He went 5-of-9 from the field -- including a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arc.
• Redshirt junior forward Kenny Kaminski (Medina, Ohio) shot 4-of-8 -- including three treys â€" in 21 minutes. He also hauled in four rebounds.
• Junior forward Wadly Mompremier (Miami, Fla.) contributed eight points and five rebounds and matched his career high with four blocks in 12 minutes of work off of the bench.

• Redshirt senior guard Jeff Short added 19 points and two rebounds in 33 minutes for the Spartans.
• Ohio raced out to a 12-2 lead over the first four-plus minutes of the contest thanks to treys by Kaminski, Campbell and Block and a conventional three-point play by Simmons.
• The Spartans responded with a 19-10 stretch that cut the Bobcats’ lead down to one at 22-21 with just under eight minutes to play in the first half.
• The Bobcats answered the challenge by closing the half out on a 25-6 run to build its largest halftime lead of the season at 20 points. Campbell tallied six points during the surge while Setty and Block each chipped in five points.
• Norfolk State came out of the halftime break with a 25-10 run that trimmed Ohio’s lead back down to five with 11 minutes to play.
• That’s as close as the Bobcats let the Spartans get, though, as a layup by Block and a three by Setty built Ohio’s lead back up to 10. The Bobcats never led by less than double figures again as eleven second-half points from Block, seven from Kaminski and six apiece from Setty and Simmons helped Ohio roll to a 22-point victory.
