HOW IT HAPPENED
• Ohio led for the first 36:45 of the contest, but Tulsa grabbed the lead with 2:24 to go and never relinquished control the rest of the way.
• The contest was truly a tale of two halves. The Bobcats were a scorching 61.5 percent (16-of-26) from the field in the first half -- including 80.0 percent (8-of-10) from three-point range. • The Bobcats were plagued by both turnovers (23) and foul trouble (34). Ohio committed 16 turnovers in the second half, leading to 31 points for Tulsa.
• Both teams spent a considerable amount of time from the free throw line, combining to take 86 attempts from the charity stripe. Ohio went 30-of-40 (75.0 percent) from the line while Tulsa shot 34-of-46 (73.9 percent).
• Redshirt sophomore guard Jaaron Simmons (Dayton, Ohio) scored a career-high 30 points for Ohio, setting career highs in field goals made (8) and field goals attempted (16). He also sank 12-of-16 free throw attempts. Simmons dished out a game-high eight assists in addition to hauling in five rebounds over 38 minutes of work.
• Redshirt junior forward Kenny Kaminski (Medina, Ohio) also put together a career effort for the Bobcats, logging a career-high 21 points in 33 minutes. He shot 5-of-11 from the field -- including 5-of-9 from three-point range to match his career highs in both makes and attempts. He also went a career-best 6-for-6 from the charity stripe. Kaminski also finished with six rebounds, an assist and a block.

• A layup by Birt with 16:43 to play in the second half cut Ohio's advantage down to 11 at 56-45, but the Bobcats countered with a 10-2 run highlighted by a conventional three-point play by freshman power forward Doug Taylor (Columbus, Ohio) and another triple by Kaminski to swell the Green & White's lead to 19.
• The Bobcats maintained a double-digit lead until a trey by Birt cut it to 77-70 with just over eight minutes to go. The three opened a 19-4 run by Tulsa that gave the Golden Hurricane a five-point lead with just over a minute and a half to play. A layup by Curtis gave Tulsa the lead, and another three by Birt made it a five-point advantage.
• Two free throws from Harrison gave Tulsa its largest lead with 28 seconds left, but a trey by Dartis cut the Golden Hurricane edge down to one at 88-87. The Bobcats were forced to foul Woodard, who made both free throws to make it a three-point game at 90-87 with six seconds left. • Dartis reached double figures in scoring for the second game in a row.
• Campbell led Ohio in rebounding for the second game in a row.

QUOTABLE
Second-Year Head Coach Saul Phillips
"Twenty-three turnovers. That's how it got away. What's sad is we put ourselves in position to get a really good win. It's disappointing. It came down to a failure to take care of the ball and being able to defend without fouling."

UP NEXT
The Bobcats will play the loser of Friday's 8:30 p.m. ET contest between Indiana State and Norfolk State on Saturday (Nov. 21) at 4 p.m. ET.
