Ohio Volleyball to Add Transfer Maggie Nedoma

ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio Volleyball team will add Southern Illinois transfer Maggie Nedoma (Brook Park, Ohio) in the 2019 season. Nedoma will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

"We're excited to add Maggie to our program," head coach Deane Webb said. "There aren't many six rotation lefty opposites with her skill set.  She has started for two years in a similar level conference as the MAC, and that experience is invaluable.  I'm looking forward to working with her this spring and helping her achieve her goals."

During her sophomore season, Nedoma led SIU in kills with 249 in 73 sets played, averaging 3.41 kills per set. Nedoma recorded 127 digs and for 1.74 per set. The Brook Park, Ohio native had 22 blocks and 14 aces as well.

As a freshman for SIU, Nedoma appeared in 28 matches and recorded 10 or more kills in eight matches. Against Oakland as a freshman, she had a then career-high of 18 killson an impressive .552 hitting percentage. Nedoma ended her freshman season with 200 kills and 42 total blocks.

Nedoma has 448 career kills on 1388 swings. She's recorded 64 blocks and 164 digs in her career so far. 

In high school at Berea-Midpark High School in Ohio, she was third team All-Ohio as a senior after hitting .292 with 298 kill, 211 digs, 165 assists, 73 aces and 62 blocks. She earned All-Southwestern Conference honors three times in her high school career and helped Berea-Midpark advance to the district semifinals in 2016. Nedoma is the school record holder for aces, kills and digs in a single-season and has the school record for career kills. 

Ohio finished the 2018 season with 13 wins and qualified for the conference tournament for the 17th-year in a row.
