Odunaiya Breaks School Record, Ohio Track And Field Holds 7th Place After Day 1 Of MAC Championship

Kent, Ohio - Ohio track and field concludes day 1 of the MAC Championships holding seventh place with a total of 13 points.

FIELD EVENTS

To start the day senior Gaza Odunaiya (Athens, Ohio) placed second overall in the weight throw breaking her previous best and school record with a throw of 20.15m. Sophomore Abby Moore (Rootstown, Ohio) finished in eighth place with a throw of 18.15m.

RUNNING EVENTS
In the 800m run, senior Emily Deering (Geneva, Ohio) finished in seventh and will advance to the finals tomorrow with a time of 2:12.14.

The women's 5000m run found senior Alyssa Atkinson (Granville, Ohio) finishing in ninth with a time of 17:30.30. Sophomore Hailey Bowes (Arlington Heights, Ill.) finished close behind in tenth with a time of 17:32.03.

The distance medley relay team of senior Josie Woosley (Pataskala, Ohio), senior Erin Stewart (Chardon, Ohio), freshman Stephanie Pierce (Fairborn, Ohio), and junior Melissa Koziol (Burton, Ohio) finished in fifth with a total time of 11:53.74
