Deering Breaks School Record, Ohio Track And Field Returns From Ohio State Tune-Up

Columbus, Ohio – Ohio track and field returns from a day trip at the Ohio State Tune-Up meet (Feb.15).

FIELD EVENTS

Sophomore Abby Moore (Rootstown, Ohio) placed sixth overall in the weight throw reaching 17.67m. 

In the long jump, freshman Halie Sciury (East Sparta, Ohio) placed sixth with a jump of 4.86m. Junior Tajah Haley (Washington, Pa.) finished seventh with a distance of 4.72m.

Junior Atiya Spaulding (Chesapeake, Ohio) finished in fifth for women's high jump with a height of 1.58m. Haley also competed in high jump and finished eighth with a height of 1.53m.

RUNNING EVENTS
In the 600m run, senior Emily Deering (Geneva, Ohio) finished in second with a school record time of 1:33.81. Deering's previous record was marked at 1:35.01. Freshman Stephanie Pierce (Fairborn, Ohio) finished in third with a time of 1:39.32

Freshman Rosie Lamb (Granville, Ohio) competed in the women's 1 mile run and finished sixth with a final time of 5:13.75

In the women's 800m run, junior Melissa Koziol (Burton, Ohio) finished in third with at time of 2:16.65. Senior Josie Woosley (Pataskala, Ohio) finished eighth with a time of 2:19.25.

In the 3000m run, senior Alyssa Atkinson (Granville, Ohio) finished in first with a time of 9:59.83. Senior Madison Sury (Waterford, Ohio) finished in third place with a final time of 10:03.88. Sophomore Hailey Bowes (Arlington Heights, Ill.) finished in seventh with a final time of 10:18.03.

UP NEXT
The Bobcats have prepared all season for next week's competition, the MAC Championship meet being hosted by Kent State in Kent, Ohio. The two-day event will start Friday February 22 and conclude Saturday February 23.
