Bowling Green, Ohio – Ohio track and field concluded the first day of the 2018 Indoor Track & Field Mid-American Conference Championships with a total of six points and in 11th place.

The Bobcats kicked off day one with the 400m trials where sophomore Marissa Handel (Highland Heights, Ohio) clocked in a time of 58.36 to place in the top-20.
Ohio had two Bobcats racing in the 800m where junior Emily Deering (Geneva, Ohio) qualified for the finals with a trial time of 2:12.07. Senior Kaitlyn Logan (Granville, Ohio) recorded a time of 2:20.96 to place 14th overall.
Ohio's distance medley relay team consisting of junior Josie Woosley (Pataskala, Ohio), Handel, freshman Melissa Barrett (Englewood, Ohio), sophomore Abby Miller (Mansfield, Ohio) placed fifth overall with a time of 12:01.81.
Field events were started with the weight throw where Ohio recorded two top-10 finishes including junior Gaza Odunaiya's (Athens, Ohio) seventh place finish (18.97m) and freshman Abby Moore's (Rootstown, Ohio) 10th place finish (17.26m). Senior Cassidy Cleland (Reedsville, Ohio) placed 14th with a best throw of 16.33m.
Ohio will compete tomorrow in the final day of the MAC Championship with field events beginning at 11 a.m. and running events at 1:20 p.m.
