Ohio Swimming and Diving Competes at Home in Back-to-Back Duals for Senior Weekend

ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio swimming and diving team will compete in back-to-back meets this weekend against Marshall and Bowling Green. The meet against Marshall is scheduled for Friday (Jan. 26) at 5 p.m. and the meet against Bowling Green will be held Saturday beginning at 1:45 p.m.

The Bobcats will also be recognizing the careers of graduating seniors Katie Lemen (), Elena Patz (), Caroline Raley (Mobile, Ala.), and Hannah Shinn (Waterloo, Ill.).

SCOUTING OHIO
Last week, Ohio competed at Mid-American Conference opponent, Akron, where the 'Cats fell to the Zips 193-106.

The Bobcats recorded wins in four of the meet's events including:
200-yard freestyle: Emily Zimcosky, 1:51.39
50-yard freestyle: Corrin Van Lanen, 23.18
100-yard freestyle: Corrin Van Lanen, 51.65
50-yard freestyle: Emily Zimcosky, 5:02.09

SCOUTING MARSHALL
Marshall visits Athens coming off their last home meet of the season against Liberty (Jan. 20) where the Flames won a 177-23 battle.

SCOUTING BOWLING GREEN
The Falcons come to Athens after last competing at the Buffalo Diving Invite where junior diver Talisa Lemke helped Bowling Green to a win and also earning her the honor of MAC Swimmer/Diver of the Week for the second time this season.

OHIO FEMALE SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Zimcosky (Smock, Pa.) has been named Ohio's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 22 for her performance against Akron and maintaining a GPA of 3.803 while majoring in Studio Art.

The sophomore performed well for the Ohio swimming & diving team in its meet at Mid-American Conference rival Akron last Saturday (Jan. 20). She won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:02.09, finished second in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:51.39 and placed third in the 50-yard freestyle in 23.96. She also helped the Bobcats' 200-yard medley relay 'A' team take second in 1:45.02.
