ATHENS, Ohio– Highlighted by nine home events, including a nonconference matchup with Marshall, the Ohio Women's Soccer team has released its 2018 fall schedule, head coach Aaron Rodgers announced today.
The Bobcats will play eight nonconference games with three of them at Chessa Field, and 11 Mid-American Conference games, with six of them in Athens.
The Bobcats will hold their annual exhibition match in Athens on Aug. 10 when they take on Youngstown State, with the game set to begin at 1 p.m. at Chessa Field.
The Bobcats will begin the regular season with three-straight games on the road. The Bobcats open the season at Pittsburgh to take on the Panthers on Friday, Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. The following weekend, Ohio heads to Nashville, Tenn. to partake in two games at Vanderbilt. The Bobcats will face off against Lipscomb on Friday, Aug. 24 at 5:30 p.m., and will wrap up the weekend against host Vanderbilt on Sunday, Aug. 26 at 3:30 p.m.
Ohio will open the home part of their schedule on Friday, Aug. 31 to face off against Northern Kentucky at 4 p.m. Ohio will wrap up the weekend on Sunday, Sept. 2 when they face Marshall at 1 p.m. at Chessa Field.
The Bobcats will hit the road again on Friday, Sept. 7 to take on Cleveland State at 7 p.m., and will conclude the weekend at home on Sunday, Sept. 9 when they take on Wright State at 1 p.m. at Chessa Field.
Ohio will conclude nonconference play on the road in Pittsburgh again, this time to take on Robert Morris on Sunday, Sept. 16, with the game set to begin at 1 p.m.
The Bobcats open MAC play with two-straight road contests starting Friday, Sept. 21 when they head to Mount Pleasant, Mich. to take on Central Michigan at 7 p.m. Ohio will then head to Ypsilanti, Mich. to take on Eastern Michigan on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 1 p.m.
The Bobcats then return to Athens for a three-game home stand starting on Friday, Sept. 28 to take on Miami for the 2018 edition of the 'Battle of the Bricks.' Game time is set for 4 p.m. at Chessa Field. Ohio will then host Ball State on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m., before opening October with a matchup with Akron on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 4 p.m. at Chessa Field.
Ohio then heads to Buffalo on Sunday, Oct. 7 to take on the Bulls at 1 p.m. Ohio will then wrap up the road portion of their schedule starting Friday, Oct. 12 at Toledo for a matchup set for 4 p.m. The Bobcats will then head to Bowling Green on Sunday, Oct. 14 for a battle with the Falcons at 1 pm.
Ohio will conclude the regular season with three-straight games at Chessa Field starting on Thursday, Oct. 18 when they take on Northern Illinois at 3 p.m. The Bobcats return to action on Sunday, Oct. 21 when they take on Western Michigan at 1 p.m.
The Bobcats will conclude the regular season on Thursday, Oct. 25 when they take on Kent State at 3 p.m. at Chessa Field.
The MAC Tournament is set to begin Sunday, Oct. 28 with the quarterfinal matchups. The tournament semifinals will take place on Friday, Nov. 2, with the finals scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 4. All MAC Tournament locations will be campus sites.
The 2018 NCAA Division I Tournament is set to begin Friday, Nov. 9.
