ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio wrestling team (6-5, 4-3 MAC) travels to Clarion, Pa. to take on Clarion University on Friday (Feb. 3) at Tippin Gym. Action is slated to begin at 7 p.m. ET.
Ohio is ranked fourth in the latest Mid-American Conference poll, as announced by the league office on Thursday (Feb. 2). Missouri was ranked first with Northern Iowa and Central Michigan rounding out the top three of the poll.
The Bobcats had five wrestlers ranked in the top-4 of their respective weight class by the conference.
Sophomore Shakur Laney (Canal Winchester, Ohio) was ranked second in the 125-class. Laney has placed in three individual tournaments including a fifth-place finish at the Midlands Championships, second-place at the NAVY Classic and first at the Bearcat Open. Laney is 22-4 on the season and 5-1 in conference play.
Sophomore Cameron Kelly (Bellbrook, Ohio) was ranked third in the 133-class. Kelly has placed in three individual tournaments taking seventh at the Midlands Championships and second-place at the NAVY Classic and Bearcat Open. Kelly has a record of 16-8 this season and is 3-2 in MAC play.
Junior Noah Forrider (Marysville, Ohio) was ranked second in the 141-division. Forrider placed in two individual tournaments taking fifth at the NAVY Classic and a first-place finish at the Bearcat Open. Forrider is 22-3 this season and is 6-1 in conference play this season.
Redshirt junior Cullen Cummings (Woodridge, Ill.) was ranked in a tie for fourth in the 157-class. Cummings has an 11-11 record and is 4-3 in MAC play.
Redshirt sophomore Zack Parker (Felton, Del.) was ranked first in the 285-class. Parker is 19-9 overall and is 6-1 in conference play. Parker also took fourth-place at the Bearcat Open.
Clarion is 4-7 this season. The Golden Eagles are 0-4 against common opponents with the Bobcats. Clarion has fallen to Campbell (28-12), American (27-11), Eastern Michigan (18-16) and Appalachian State (23-10).
Ohio will face American and Appalachian State on Feb. 19 at home for Senior Day and the final duals of the regular season.
Brock Zacherl is Clarion’s lone ranked wrestler by Intermat. Zacherl is ranked 20th in the 141-class. He is 17-2 this season.

Ohio dominated Clarion last season 40-4 at the Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio.
Ohio goes on the road for a pair of duals next week. Ohio concludes MAC play with a road matchup at Old Dominion on Friday (Feb. 10) followed by a trip to Gardner-Webb on Sunday (Feb. 12).
