BOWLING GREEN, Ohio– After shooting a career-low 67, Ohio women's golf junior Emily Hughes finished the 2018 Dolores Black Falcon Invitational, hosted by Bowling Green at at Stone Ridge Golf Club, as the individual champion on Sunday. Overall, Hughes' performance helped the Bobcats finish the tournament in third place after finishing the day with a score of 310 to help them wrap up play with a two-round score of 621 (+45).
Hughes (Columbus, Ohio) entered the day tied for 15thplace. She would go on to shoot a career-low of 67 to finish the day with a two-round total of 144 to finish the tournament even par. Her score of 144 is the lowest 36-hole total of her career and it is also the fourth-lowest two-round total in program history.
Next, junior Nicole Smiley (Dublin, Ohio) finished the tournament tied for sixth place after shooting a second-round score of 76 to finish the competition with a score of 151 (+7). Freshman Ashley Flynn (Dublin, Ohio) finished the day tied for 40thplace after shooting an 83 to finish the tournament with an overall score of 160 (+16).
Senior Lily Pendy (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.) finished the tournament tied for 70thplace, finishing Sunday with a score of 84, finishing the weekend with a two-round score of 166 (+22).
Rounding out the scoring Bobcats was sophomore Marissa Balish (Allison Park, Pa.) who finished the day with a score of 84, giving her an overall score of 173 (+29), tying her for 84thplace.
Playing unattached for Ohio was junior Chloe McKinzie (Medina, Ohio), who wrapped up play in 87thplace after recording a score of 90 in Sunday's final round, finishing the weekend with an overall score of 175 (+31).
Up next, the Bobcats will take a week off before heading to Naperville, Ill. for the 2018 Mid-American Conference Tournament hosted by Northern Illinois, April 20-23 at the Naperville Country Club.
