RICHMOND, Ky.– The Ohio women's golf team wrapped up play at the 2018 Colonel Classic hosted by Eastern Kentucky at the University Club at Arlington. The Bobcats wrapped up play tied for eighth place after shooting a second-round score of 314, finishing with a tournament total of 617 (+41).
Xavier finished the tournament as team champions after finishing with a total of 595 (+19) and defeating EKU in a playoff.
Leading Ohio was senior Lily Pendy (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.) who wrapped up Saturday with a score of 77, giving her a two-round total of 153 (+9), and tying her for 28thplace. Next was junior Emily Hughes (Columbus, Ohio) who finished the tournament tied for 35thplace. Hughes finished the day with a second-round score of 78, giving her a tournament total of 155 (+11).
Junior Nicole Smiley (Dublin, Ohio) finished the tournament tied for 43rdplace. Smiley finished Saturday with a score of 77, giving her a two-round total of 156 (+12). Sophomore Marissa Balish (Allison Park, Pa.) wrapped up Saturday with a score of 82, giving her a competition total of 157 (+13) and tying her for 48thplace.
Rounding out the scoring Bobcats was freshman Ashley Flynn (Dublin, Ohio) who finished tied for 67thplace. Flynn wrapped up Saturday with an 87, giving her a two-round total of 162 (+18).
Competing unattached for the Bobcats was junior Chloe McKinzie (Medina, Ohio) who finished tied for 77thplace after finishing Saturday with an 84. McKinzie wrapped up the tournament with a two-round total of 164 (+20).
Up next, the Bobcats return to action in their final tournament before the Mid-American Conference Tournament on April 7-8 at the 2018 Dolores Black Falcon invitational.
