RIO VERDE, Ariz. – The Ohio women's golf team wrapped up the second day of the 2018 Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Western Michigan and the Quail Run Golf Course, with the Bobcats sitting tied for 12th place after shooting a 308 on Saturday for a two-day total of 623 (+47). Senior Lily Pendy is currently leading the Bobcats, sitting tied for ninth place after the second day.
Akron currently sits in first place after two days of competition with a 36-hole total of 599 (+23).
Pendy (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.) entered the day tied for 24th place and went on to shoot a 72, giving her a two-round total of 149 (+5), shooting her up the leaderboard where she now sits tied for ninth place.
Junior Emily Hughes (Columbus, Ohio) finished the day tied for 44th place after recording a 77 on the day, giving her a two-day total of 157 (+13).
Next for Ohio is junior Nicole Smiley (Dublin, Ohio) who sits tied for 58th place after finishing Saturday with a 77, giving her a two-day total of 160 (+16). Sophomore Marissa Balish (Allison Park, Pa.) finished the day by registering a score of 82, giving her two-round total of 165 (+21) and placing her tied for 77th place.
Freshman Ashley Flynn (Dublin, Ohio) finished Saturday with a score of 96, giving her a two-day total of 171 (+27), putting her tied for 88th after the second day of competition.
Competing unattached for the Bobcats is Hannah Travis (Lancaster, Ohio). After shooting an 85 on Friday, Travis wrapped up Saturday with am, 82, giving her a two-round total of 167 (+23), tying her for 82nd place.
The Bobcats wrap up play at the 2018 Rio Verde Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 25. Competition is set to begin about 10:30 a.m. EST and live results can be found on golfstat.com.
