ATHENS, Ohio— The Ohio women's golf team travels to Portage, Michigan this weekend to compete in the team's third fall tournament of the season. The Bobcats are competing in the two-day 2017 KZoo Classic hosted by Western Michigan at The Moors Golf Club. Play begins on Monday, Oct. 2 with a 9 a.m. start where teams will play two 18-hole rounds. The tournament concludes with round three on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 9 a.m. Par is set at 72 for the 6,133-yard course.
The six competing programs include: Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin-Green Bay and Western Michigan.
Ohio tied for fourth with Cleveland State in last year's tournament with a score of 931 (+67). Hailey Hrynewich (Muskegon, Mich.) took home first place, earning an overall score of 215 (-1).
The Bobcats are coming off the Nittany Lion Invitational hosted by Penn State. Ohio finished ninth with a score of 915 (+51). Nicole Smiley (Dublin, Ohio) was the low Bobcat, taking eighth and earning a score of 218 (+2). Next was Marissa Balish (Allison Park, Pa.) with a score of 226 (+10) to place 29th and Lily Pendy (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.) who earned a score of 235 (+19) to take 55th.

Up next Ohio wraps up the fall portion of the schedule on Monday, Oct. 9 and Tuesday, Oct. 10 when the team travels to Ypsilanti, Mich. to play in the 2017 Shirley Spork EMU Invitational. The tournament is hosted by Eastern Michigan and will be played at the Eagle Crest Golf Course.
