ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio Women's Golf team has released its 2017-18 tournament schedule, head coach Kelly Ovington announced today. The Bobcats will compete four times during the fall season and participate in six tournaments in the spring season, concluding with the 2018 Mid-American Conference Tournament.
The Bobcats will open the season Sept. 10-11 when they compete in the 2017 Redbird Invitational hosted by Illinois State. The 54-hole tournament will take place at the Weibring Golf Club in Normal, Ill.
Then Sept. 23-24, Ohio will head to State College, Pa. for the 2017 Nittany Lion Invitational hosted by Penn State. The 54-hole event will take place at Penn State Blue Golf Course. The Bobcats will return to the course Oct. 2-3 when they head to Kalamazoo, Mich. for the Kalamazoo Classic. The 54-hole event will be hosted by Western Michigan at The Moors Golf Club.
Ohio will wrap up the fall slate Oct. 9-10 when they participate in the 2017 Shirley Spork EMU Invitational. The 54-hole event will be hosted by Eastern Michigan and will take place at the Eagle Crest Golf Couse in Ypsilanti, Mich.
After a few months away from completion, the Bobcats will open the 2018 spring slate with the Mid-American Match Play Challenge Feb. 5-6. This years' challenge will be hosted by Bowling Green at the Royal Lakes Course at the Lakewood Ranch Country Club in Bradenton, Fla.
The Bobcats will return to action Feb. 23-25 for the 2018 Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz. The 54-hole event is hosted by Western Michigan and will be held at the Quail Run Course at the Rio Verde Country Club.
Ohio will then head to Dade City, Fla. March 12-13 for the 54-hole Spring Break Shootout hosted by Western Kentucky at the Lake Jovita Golf Club. The Bobcats will then participate in the 2018 Lady Colonel Classic March 30-31. The 54-hole event is hosted by Eastern Kentucky at the Arlington Golf Course in Richmond, Ky.
In their final competition of the regular season, the Bobcats will compete in the 2018 Dolores Black Falcon Invitational and look to repeat as tournament champions April 6-7. The 36-hole tournament is hosted by Bowling Green and will take place at the Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio.
The Bobcats will then gear up for the 2018 MAC Tournament April 20-22. This year's tournament is hosted by Northern Illinois and will take place at the Naperville Country Club in Naperville, Ill.
