TOLEDO, Ohio – The Ohio Women's Basketball team (20-3, 9-3 MAC) fell to Toledo (15-7, 7-4 MAC), 76-50, inside Savage Arena on Wednesday night. The loss was Ohio's first on the road this season.

"Toledo was the better team tonight," head coach Bob Boldon said. "We knew this one would be a tough one, and it was. We knew what we were getting into, and it unfortunately didn't go our way. Much like after the Central Michigan game we talked about how we didn't win the league, and we didn't lose the league tonight. They're both one game, and you have to move forward. You obviously put yourself in a disadvantage by losing tonight, but you know, Toledo is a good basketball team. We needed to play better and unfortunately, we didn't. Whether we won or lost, we'll still do the same stuff at practice tomorrow to prepare for a tough Western Michigan team."

Ohio was led by sophomore guard Cece Hooks (Dayton, Ohio) who recorded 21 points on 9-of-22 shooting. Hooks was 0-of-3 from behind the three-point line and 3-of-6 from the free throw line. Hooks added a team-high six rebounds and recorded two steals.

Junior guard Amani Burke (Columbus, Ohio) was Ohio's other double-digit scorer with 11 points on 3-of-11 shooting. Burke knocked down one three pointer and was 4-of-6 from the free throw line.

Senior guard Dominique Doseck (Athens, Ohio) had eight points and was a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Redshirt freshman forward Erica Johnson (Mansfield, Ohio) posted six rebounds and four points with one assist, while redshirt freshman Kaylee Bambule (Plainfield, Ill.) had three points.

As a team, the Bobcats shot 24.0 percent (18-of-75) from the field and was 7.7 percent (2-of-26) from behind the three-point line. Ohio was 60.0 percent (12-of-20) from the free throw line. Both the Bobcats and the Rockets had 42 rebounds. 23 of Ohio's 42 rebounds were on the offensive end.

Toledo outscored the Bobcats 16-9 in the first quarter. The Bobcats were 4-of-23 (17.4 percent) and were led by Hooks with four points on seven shots.

Toledo was able to get the lead to 29-16 but a 7-0 run from the Bobcats at the end of the quarter was able to cut the Toledo lead down 29-23 at the break. Hooks had eight points and was 3-of-9 from the field while Burke hit one three and had seven points overall at the break.

The Rockets outscored Ohio 21-17 in the third period and took a 50-40 lead into the final period. Hooks had 11 points in the third quarter. Ohio was 5-of-18 in the third period and 0-of-6 from deep.

Toledo started the fourth quarter on a 7-0 run and ended up outscoring Ohio in the final frame, 76-50. The Bobcats were 4-of-17 (23.5 percent) from the field while the Rockets were 9-of-12 (75.0 percent) in the fourth quarter.

Ohio will return home to face Western Michigan on Saturday, Feb. 16. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
