ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio women's basketball junior guard Dominique Doseck was named the Mid-American Conference East Player of the Week for her performance the week of Dec. 25, the league announced today.
It is the first time in her career that the Athens, Ohio native has earned the honor.
Doseck led Ohio offensively the past week, averaging 16.5 points per game and grabbing an average of 3.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.0 steals a game helping Ohio to a 2-0 week. Overall, Doseck went 11-of-24 (.450) from the field, 4-of-5 (.800) from there free throw line and 7-of-19 from three-point range (.368).
The best game of her career came on Dec. 31 against Toledo in the MAC opener. Doseck was on fire, scoring a career-high 27 points, going 9-of-12 (.750) from the field, 5-of-7 (.742) from three-point range and 4-of-5 (.800) from the free throw line. She also had five rebounds, two assists and one steal in the 78-61 victory.
Doseck and the Bobcats are back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 3 when the Bobcats take on Central Michigan (9-3, 1-0 MAC) in Mount Pleasant, Mich. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside McGuirk Arena and can be seen on ESPN3.
