Ohio Women’s Basketball Looks to Bounce Back Against Purdue

ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio women's basketball team (4-3) remains on the road as they head to West Lafayette, Ind. to take on Purdue (6-4) on Sunday, Dec. 10. A WIN AGAINST PURDUE WOULD...
- Give Ohio their 2nd win against Purdue.
- Would give Ohio its first win over Purdue since Feb. 6, 1982. 
- Give head coach Bob Boldon his 187th career win and his 88th at Ohio. 
- Give Ohio its 552nd victory in program history. 
- Give Ohio its third road win of the season. 
- Imprive Ohio's record to 6-35 against the Big 10. 

ALL TIME AGAINST PURDUE
- The Bobcats are 1-4 all-time against Purdue, with Purdue winning the last match. 
- The last time the two teams met was on Dec. 12, 1998 when Purdue won the game, 92-52 in Athens.
- The last time Ohio won at Purdue was Feb. 6, 1982.  
- The home team is 0-3 in all meetings of Ohio and Purdue.

ALL-TIME AGAINST THE BIG 10
- Ohio is 5-35 against Big 10 opponents. 
- The Bobcats last win against the Big 10 came on Dec. 22, 2016 against Illinois. 

SCOUTING OHIO
- The Bobcats are currently 4-3 after falling 71-64 to CSU on Dec. 6. 
- Leading Ohio is Cierra Hooks who averages 12.1 points a game and 5.4 rebounds a contest. Hooks also leads the team in steals with 24 for the season, while also adding 15 assists.
- Amani Burke is averaging 11.9 points a game and 3.7 rebounds. 
- Dominique Doseck is also averaging double figures, adding 10.7 points a game and 21 steals. 
- Taylor Agler adds 8.6 points a game and 3.1 rebounds to go along with her team-leading 33 assists. 
- As a team, Ohio is averaging 65.3 points a game while allowing opponents to score 61.1 points a game. 
- Ohio is shooting .480 from the field, .230 from three-point range and .606 from the free throw line. 
- The Bobcats are averaging 34.4 rebounds a game, 11.3 assists per game and 2.3 blocks a game.

- Ohio welcomed five freshmen to the squad, with Cierra Hooks, Erica Johnson, Alexis Stover, Kaylee Bambule and Gabby Burris taking the floor this season.

THE LAST TIME WE SAW OHIO
- Ohio is coming off of a 71-64 setback against CSU on Dec. 6 in Cleveland. 
- Amani Burke led Ohio, tallying 18 points, while adding three rebounds, and two steaks. 
- Cierra Hooks followed with 14, points, and going 5-for-10 from the field, and grabbing a team-high 14 rebounds. 
- Dominique Doseck also had 12 points, with five rebounds and a team-high six steals. 
- Katie Barker had 11 points, three rebounds, and one block - As a team, Ohio was 21-of-74 (.284) from the field, 9-of-46 (.196) from the three-point line, and 13-of-18 (.722) from the line. 
- CSU was 23-of-46 (.500) from the field, 7-of-17 (.412) from the three-point line, and 18-of-29 (.621) from the free-throw line.
- Ohio's bench outscored CSU (20-4) in the game. Ohio also scored more second-chance points (15-6), and points off turnovers (17-11). CSU scored more points in the paint (26-22). Ohio and CSU each scored six points off fast breaks. 

IN PURDUE'S LAST GAME
- Purdue is coming off of a 95-49 victory over Valparaiso on Dec. 8. 
- Lamina Cooper led Purdue with 17 points, going 7-of-12 from the field. 
- Dominique Oden and Ae'Rianna Harris both added 15 points, while Harris also added 11 rebounds. 
- Andreona Keys also grabbed 11 rebounds. 
- As a team, Purdue shot .552 from the field, .500 from the field and .769 from the free throw line. 
- Purde scored 36 points in the pain, 23 points off of turnovers and 28 bench points. 
- As a team, Purdue dished out 24 assists, had 11 blocks and eight steals and forced 14 turnovers. 

SCOUTING PURDUE
-Purdue is off to a 6-4 start after defeating Valparaiso on Dec. 8. 
- Leading the Boilermakers is Ae'Rianna Harris who is averaging 13.4 points a game. She is shooting .548 from the field. 
- Harris is also is leading the team with 9.0 rebounds per contest. 
- Andreona Keys is next on the team, averaging 13.1 points per game. 
-  Overall, Purdue is averaging 69.7 points per game while allowing only 63.5 points per game. 
- As a team, the Boilermakers are shooting .453 from the field, .393 from three-point range and .721 from the free throw line. 
- Purdue also adds 34.9 rebounds a game and 15.7 assists per contest. 
- The Boilermakers are averaging 14.7 turnovers a game and 5.6 blocks a game. 

LAST TIME AGAINST PURDUE
- The Bobcats last faced off with Purdue on Dec. 12, 1998 with Purdue winning 92-52 in Athens. 

TURNOVER MACHINES
- Despite their size, the Ohio defense has been solid for Ohio through the first seven games.

- Individually, Cierra Hooks (3.4) ranks second in the MAC in steals per game, while Dominique Doseck (3.0) is tied for second, and Taylor Agler (2.9) is fifth.
- Nationally, Hooks is tied for 18th in steals per game, with Agler ranked 54th. 
- On Nov. 16 against Notre Dame College, the Bobcats set the single game record for steals with 25. 
- The Bobcats have forced at least 20 turnovers in all five out of six games this season.
