    Four member of the Ohio women’s basketball team were named Academic All Mid-American Conference, the league announced today. Redshirt senior Taylor Agler, redshirt sophomore Katie Barker and juniors Dominique Doseck and Kendall Jessing all earned the honor.

  • Hooks Named MAC Freshman of the Year; Burris Named to All-Freshman Team

    Ohio women’s basketball freshman guard Cierra Hooks was named the 2018 Mid-American Conference Freshman of the year, the league announced today. Hooks also earned a spot on the All-MAC Third Team, the All-Defensive Team and the All-Freshman Team. Fellow freshman Gabby Burris was also named to the All-Freshman Team.

    Head coach Bob Boldon earned his 100th win at Ohio as the fifth-seeded Ohio women’s basketball team (16-14) began the post season, claiming an 85-73 victory over Mid-American Conference East foe No. 12 Akron (9-21) Monday evening inside the Convocation Center. The Bobcats will now advance to the quarterfinals of the MAC Tournament for the third-straight year.

However, the Ohio women’s basketball team (15-14, 9-9 MAC) would fall to Mid-American Conference East foe Akron (9-20, 3-15 MAC) by the final of 62-59 Saturday afternoon inside James A. Rhodes Arena, in the final game of the regular season.

    The Ohio women’s basketball team (15-12, 9-7 MAC) returns to Athens for the final time during the 2018 regular season on Wednesday, Feb. 28 when the Bobcats host Miami (18-9, 10-6 MAC).     Led by Cierra Hook’s 21 points, nine steals and a career-high eight assists, the Ohio women’s basketball team defeated Mid-American Conference East foe Kent State in a thrilling 79-78 victory, Wednesday evening inside the Convocation Center. With her nine steals, Hooks became the single-season steals leader in Ohio history.

The first 1,000 fans to the doubleheader will receive a free Bobcats Frisbee and that halftime will feature Team Zoom: Frisbee Catching Dogs.
