Blackburg, Va.--The Ohio men's and women's cross country teams return home after competing in the Virginia Tech Alumni Invitational down in Blackburg, Va. The women's team finished second overall as a team while the men finished third.
The Bobcat women had five runners finish in the top fifteen in the 6K taking second place overall with a score of sixty points. The fastest times were clocked in by red shirt senior Christina Seas (Coldwater, Ohio) with a time of 22:59.2 placing ninth overall. Seas was followed by sophomore Jessica Hartman (Lebanon, Ohio) with a time of 23:03.4 in tenth. The last three Bobcats, sophomore Tate Dawson (Doylestown, Pa.) 23:13.2 in twelfth, freshman Madelyn Bartolone (Massillon, Ohio) 23:18.4 in fourteenth, and finally junior Tiffany Hill (Dublin, Ohio) 23:25.8 finished fifteenth.
The men finished third as team with an overall score of 52 points in the 8k race. The men were led by sophomore Josh Park (Amherst, Ohio) who finished third with a time of 24:11.4 followed closely by senior Kyle Bussard (Germantown, Ohio) in ninth with a time of 24:19.4 and red shirt sophomore Griffin Butler (Newark, Ohio) in eleventh finishing with a time of 24:29.4.
The cross country teams will take a break before returning Saturday Sept. 29 to compete in the All-Ohio Championships in Akron, Ohio. The first race will start at 2:45
