Ohio men’s cross country redshirt freshman Griffin Butler was named NCAA Division I Male Freshman of the Year this week. Head coaches throughout the state conducted the voting after this 2017 cross country season.
The Mid-American Conference announced its 2017 Men's and Women's Cross Country Academic All-MAC teams this morning (Nov. 21). A total of 52 student-athletes were named to the men's team while 83 student-athletes were named to the women's team. Ohio claimed seven of the men’s spots and the women have eight.
The Ohio men’s cross country team wrapped up a weekend at the first round of the NCAA Cross Country Championships, the Great Lakes Regional, hosted by Indiana State. The Bobcats finished the 10K in 12th place with a total of 368 points and with the top-five runners averaging a 32:34 time.

The Ohio men’s cross country team has wrapped up the 2017 Mid-American Conference Championships 8K by placing fourth on Saturday (Oct. 28) in Oxford, Ohio. Senior Brad Miller led the team and earned Second Team All-MAC honors.

The Ohio University cross country teams head to Cedarville, Ohio to compete at this year’s All-Ohio Cross Country Championships on Friday (Sept. 29) hosted by Cedarville. The men are set to begin their 8K at 2 p.m. and the women’s 6K at 2:45 on the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.

The men?s 8K race will begin promptly at 9:30 am while the women will begin their 5K at 10:10 am and will be held at Masterson Station Park in Lexington.
