ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio men's golf team is headed to Indianapolis for the Butler Spring Invitational, which will be held Monday (April 1) and Tuesday (April 2) at Highland Golf Club.
The tournament was orginally set for 54 holes of competiton but has been cut to 36 holes due to weekend weather and temperatures. The first 18 holes will now begin with a shotgun start at 2 p.m. ET on Monday. The second and final round will be played on Tuesday, beginning with a 9 a.m. ET shotgun start. Highland Golf Club is 6,551-yard, par-70 course. There will be no live scoring available for the tournament.
The Bobcats are set to compete against host Butler, Detroit, Fort Wayne, IUPUI, Oakland and Valparaiso. Ball State will have golfers competing as individuals only.
Ohio will be sending senior Ben Sattler (Liberty Township, Ohio), redshirt junior Michael Kenney (Kent, Ohio) and sophomores Zach Crawford (Vandalia, Ohio), Austin Dyson (Dublin, Ohio) and Zach Mandry (Solon, Ohio) to the Butler Spring Invitational.
Ohio competed in the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Va., last week, tying for ninth place with a total team score of 911 (+59). Crawford was the high finisher for the Bobcats, tying for 24th with a 224 (+11).
Ohio will compete in its final event of the 2018-19 regular season April 14-15 when it heads to Springboro, Ohio, for the Wright State Invitational at Heatherwoode Golf Club.
