PINEHURST, N.C. -- The Ohio men's golf team placed 12th at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate with a combined total team score of 933 (+81), as the Bobcats improved one spot on the leaderboard on Sunday (March 11) at Pinehurst No. 8 after combining to card a final-round 306 (+22).

Ohio entered final-round action in 13th place after combining to score a 326 (+26) in the first round on Friday (March 9) and then following it up with a second-round 301 (+17) on Saturday (March 10).

Radford took the Pinehurst Intercollegiate team title with a combined total team score of 886 (+34), edging Ball State by one stroke to capture the tournament crown. The Highlanders used a final-round 289 (+5) to improve one spot on the leaderboard. Ball State senior Michael VanDeventer took home individual medalist honors after leading the field the entire weekend. He finished with a total score of 215 (+2) after round scores of 71 (E), 72 (+1) and 72 (+1) to win the title by two strokes.

Junior Ben Sattler (Liberty Township, Ohio) was Ohio's top finisher, tying for 38th place with four others with a total score of 230 (+17). He jumped up 16 spots on the leaderboard thanks to a final-round 73 (+2) on Sunday. He shot a first-round 81 (+10) on Friday and followed it with a 76 (+5) on Saturday.

Two Bobcats were among seven players who tied for 49th -- redshirt senior Tom Nettles (McMurray, Pa.) and freshman Zach Crawford (Vandalia, Ohio). Both finished with total scores of 234 (+21). Nettles improved up a first-round 80 (+9) with two rounds of 77 (+6). Crawford shot an 84 (+13) in the first round but improved his standing with a second-round 73 (+2) that was followed by a final-round 77 (+6).

Freshman Tanner Johnson (Venetia, Pa.) carded a total score of 238 (+25) to tie for 63rd. He posted round scores of 82 (+11), 75 (+4) and 81 (+10).

Senior Brady Bohl (Dublin, Ohio) finished in a tie for 73rd place with a total score of 247 (+34). He shot an 83 (+12) in the first round on Friday, then recorded an 85 (+14) in second-round action on Saturday and a 79 (+8) in the final round on Sunday.

The Pinehurst Intercollegiate is Ohio's lone tournament in the month of March. The Bobcats will return to the links April 9-10 to take part in the Greenbrier Invitational, which will be held at The Old White TPC at the Greenbrier in White Sulfur Springs, W.Va.
