Ohio Men's Golf Finishes 14th At The Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational

BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. -- The Ohio men's golf team finished in 14th place at The Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational with a total team score of 907 (+43). After shooting a first-round 308 (+20) on Monday (Oct. 9), the Bobcats carded rounds of 301 (+13) and 298 (+10) on Tuesday (Oct. 10) at the Pete Dye Golf Club.

Bowling Green won The Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational with an 864 (E). The Falcons posted round scores of 290 (+2), 287 (-1) and 287 (-1).

Junior Ben Sattler (Liberty Township, Ohio) was the high finisher for Ohio, tying for 27th with a 221 (+5). After shooting a 75 (+3) in the first round on Monday, Sattler recorded round scores of 75 (+3) and 71 (-1) on Tuesday.

Redshirt senior Tom Nettles (McMurray, Pa.) tied for 48th after posting a 224 (+8). Nettles shot rounds of 74 (+2) and 77 (+5) on Tuesday after posting a 73 (+1) in the first round on Monday.

Senior Brady Bohl (Dublin, Ohio) finished with a 231 (+15), putting him in a tie for 68th. He tallied rounds of 77 (+5) and 75 (+3) on Tuesday following a first-round 79 (+7) on Monday.

Senior Grant Engel (Pittsburgh, Pa.) tied for 74th with a 234 (+18), shooting an 81 (+9) in the first round on Monday and then carding a 78 (+6) and a 75 (+3) on Tuesday.

Freshman Zach Crawford (Vandalia, Ohio) finished in 84th with a 247 (+31). He recorded rounds of 88 (+16), 75 (+3) and 84 (+12).

Marshall senior Alex Weiss took home medalist honors at The Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational with a 208 (-8) thanks to round scores of 71 (-1), 70 (-2) and 67 (-5).

Ohio closes out the 2017 fall schedule next week (Oct. 16-17) at the Dayton Flyer Invitational, which will be held at NCR Country Club.
