ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio men's golf team heads to Bridgeport, W. Va., for The Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational this week (Oct. 9-10) at the Pete Dye Golf Club.
The event is the penultimate one on the Bobcats' 2017 fall schedule.
The Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. ET on Monday (Oct. 9) for 36 continuous holes on the par-72, 7,308-yard course. Final-round action will get underway at 8:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday (Oct. 10). Live scoring will be available through GolfStat.
Ohio will compete against host West Virginia and Mid-American Conference rivals Akron and Bowling Green as well as Davidson, Eastern Kentucky, James Madison, Loyola Maryland, Marshall, Robert Morris, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Towson, Utah, Winthrop and Youngstown State.
The Bobcats tied for 10th place at The Firestone Invitational last week (Oct. 2-3) at Firestone Country Club's North Course. in Akron, Ohio. Ohio tallied a final-round 305 (+17) last Tuesday (Oct. 3). On Monday (Oct. 2), the Bobcats improved on a first-round 296 (+8) with a second-round 294 (+6).
Freshman Zach Crawford (Vandalia, Ohio) turned in his first top-five finish of his Bobcat career, tying for fourth with a 215 (-1). He carded a 75 (+3) in the final round on Tuesday after shooting rounds of 67 (-5) and 73 (+1) on Monday.
Senior Brady Bohl (Dublin, Ohio) finished in a tie for 16th with a 219 (+3). He followed up round scores of 72 (E) and 71 (-1) Monday with a final-round 76 (+4) on Tuesday. Bohl tied for third in the field with 37 pars.
Ohio closes out the 2017 fall schedule next week (Oct. 16-17) at the Dayton Flyer Invitational, which will be held at NCR Country Club.
